Ebook and Audiobook Options for Your Students!

Ebook and Audiobook Options

Let’s take a moment to discuss audiobooks.  Our students love to listen to them, but it's costly for a single school to subscribe to them.  I wanted to think about this a little differently, which leads me to my second favorite place in the whole world... Public Libraries!

We are so blessed to live in an area with many public libraries! All of these libraries subscribe to databases of ebooks, audiobooks, and movies that their patrons can access for FREE. Please consider taking your child to sign up for a library card at one of the following libraries... several libraries in the area offer free cards as long as you are a Texas resident, no matter what town you live in! Librarians are happy to get your kids (and you) going on some awesome reads!

Below, I've focused on six libraries in the area and a few of the online databases and services they offer, as well as information about their summer reading programs. Please know that these libraries offer much, much more than what I've listed. The great thing about these libraries is as long as your child has a card, they can access these databases on an iPad or android device from home and, let's be honest, who doesn't LOVE a bit of FREE ENTERTAINMENT?!?!

Enjoy!
